Against Mother Gothel's warnings, tower-bound teen Rapunzel overcomes her fear of the outside world to see the floating lanterns that are released into the sky every year on her birthday.
Rapunzel appears within the first two minutes of Tangled, released on November 24th 2010. She is first seen as a baby in her crib. Subsequently, she appeared in the short film Tangled Ever After, the series Tangled Before After and the motion picture Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2.
The German fairytale from the Brothers Grimm (the inspiration for "Tangled") was based on the French "Persinette", which was inspired by the Italian "Petrosinella", meaning "Little Parsley".
"Little Parsley, Little Parsley, let down your hair!" - doesn't have quite the same ring to it, does it?
