Disney's Moana 2 features music by Mark Mancina and Opetaia Foa'i and songs by duo Emily Bear and Abigail Barlow, taking over from Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Moana 2 songs include wordy, quick-paced tunes for Maui ("Can I Get A Chee Hoo?") and Moana's crew ("What Could Be Better Than This?"); a slightly darker ballad than "How Far I'll Go" for a more mature Moana ("Beyond"); and a song for the mysterious multi-faceted villain Matangi ("Get Lost").

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Auli'i Cravalho (Moana) described the songs as having a lot of "deeper layers".
