Huey, Dewey and Louie

Donald Duck has three clever – and sometimes trouble-making – nephews: Huey, Dewey and Louie. The triplets have appeared in animated shorts, comics, as well as in the tv shows Ducktales and Quack Pack and the Ducktales movie Treasure of the Lost Lamp.

Though you may know their names, chances are you can't remember which one is which.

Huey
Color: red
Traits: brave, spirited

How can you remember which one is Huey?
As Huey has the most fiery temperament of the three, you can associate his name with fire, which is red.

Dewey
Color: blue
Traits: smart, inventive

How can you remember which one is Dewey?
Well, the word dewy means "resembling dew". Dew is water droplets, and water is blue. So that's how you know Dewey is the blue one!

Louie
Color: green
Traits: observant, calm

How can you remember which one is Louie?
Poor Louie might best be remembered as the green one simply because he isn't the red or blue one!

In the Ducktales reboot (2017), the triplets underwent some substantial changes, though they kept their original colors. They each have a distinctive style, making it easier to identify them.

Huey wears a red cap, which he pairs with a shirt of the same color.
Dewey wears a blue t-shirt over a long-sleeved pale blue shirt.
Louie keeps it casual with a green hoodie.
