The Disney animated canon art by Disneyclips
Walt Disney released its first feature-length animated film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, in 1937. The movie was made using a technique known as cel animation, where characters were drawn on cels (transparent celluloid sheets) and superimposed on painted backgrounds.
Chicken Little (2005) was Disney's first fully computer-animated feature, though several movies before it featured CGI, starting with The Black Cauldron in 1985. The last hand-drawn animated Disney movie was Winnie the Pooh in 2011.
The movies on the following list are part of the official American Disney canon, which differs in titles from the canon in other countries. It includes Dinosaur (2000) and Winnie the Pooh (2011), but excludes The Wild (2006).
They're all full-length movies produced by Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, featuring predominantly digital or hand-drawn animation. As of November 2024, there are 63 animated movies in the official Disney canon, and 28 in the Pixar canon. Click any title below for more info.
